Please identify this Pea

Thank you, I was beginning to feel like I was the butt of a joke. Perhaps I should call him Thora. This is the only IB I have that has any white on it and was wondering if it might be considered 'split to' either pied or white. It only has about six white feathers and they hardly show unless you fan the wing out. 2013 hatch... perhaps more will come in after molt?

In my own defense I can only plead cabin fever, it's been a Looooonnnnggggg, cold winter here in the Northeast, and to top it off...... now I'm in Time Out. Think I'm gonna go hide behind the bleachers and sneak a smoke now.

And I'm going to cast my vote for Split White.

Nope, no white under the white of the throat. Thoretta doesn't have any identity problems other than the green neck. Must be his feminine side showing just a bit.

Thanks everyone for the 'votes' on which way he may split. Are there any rules of thumb on how often or how much it would express itself in future generations? Or is that a great mystery that only time will tell?

All three of my breeding hens have some white on their wings and over 50% of their babies also have white. Next year I'm going to do an experiment and breed the 2012 male w/white to his sister with the same and see what I get.

Kathy, I thought brother to sister was a No-No? Or is it no big deal if it's just one generation?

In the first post picture one there is a small throat latch which means it is split to pied. I doubt it is split white cause no white flights. Here is two of my birds The first 2 pictures show a regular IB hen notice the white on the face and the last two pictures are an IB split pied notice the small white latch going down the neck and then look at your bird again and you will notice the small latch.

It's just an experiment, not something I'll do more than one season.

Kathy you might have to cull the babies are you ready for that? I do not know anything about imbreeding but I did read a thread on here about it a couple years ago:
