Please please help me

What did he suggest you feed her?
Is she pooping OK?
He said the first few days just soft foods after that whatever she likes, He didn’t mention anything specific. The first 48hrs there were blood in her poop but now it’s diarrhetic and it’s sticky! I don’t know if its normal to be sticky

My duck, Thimbleberry, had something similar happen to her about 3 years ago, but I think not as serious. I went to pick her up one evening and I felt something hard on her bottom. I couldn't tell what it was. It was almost as big as an egg and looked like it had some shell material but also something dark and was attached to something inside her. She was trying to push it out and was prolapsing.

Luckily we do have a 24/7 emergency avian hospital, so I called them and they told me to bring her in ASAP. They did emergency surgery at 11pm and I left her there overnight. They also tube fed her, gave her fluids, and antibiotic and vitamin injections. I brought her home the next day and kept her inside away from her flock for two weeks. She also had to take antibiotics at home. The mass was attached to Thimble's reproductive system, but her intestines were fine so we didn't have any dietary recommendations aside from make sure she eats.

I hope Daisy recovers well. Keep us updated.
So sorry you had to go through this. It’s so horrible to see your pet in pain. But so happy Thimbleberry’s intestines were fine
Thank you very much:love

@Maryam. how’s your girl doing today?
Hi:love
She’s eating but less and more selective than before, she barely takes her antibiotics. I mean she doesn’t drink the water containing medicine and when I try to give her a few drops of it in tomato or sth she doesn’t eat the tomato! She’s sleeping all day, and Cookie along with her! I’m a little worried for their oversleeping. Before the surgery Daisy’s been through a heavy molting that lost almost all her feathers, I would like to give her extra multivitamin for the molting but Can’t right now:( I have no idea how she’s gonna recover everything she’s been through lately

Can you wrap her in a towel and hold her so you can open her bill if the antibiotics are liquid you can use a dropper and do a few drops at a time till it’s all been given. If a pill @casportpony can give you info with pic to show you how. And there is tube feeding you could ask the vet or his assistant to show you how.

It’s liquid and I’m currently doing so, But I don’t feel good about forcing her to take her medicine since she doesn’t like being held

Did the vet mention yogurt. When I had a sick duckling someone on here told me to try yogurt and definitely probiotics. I did yogurt alone and mixed with crumbles. He ate it a bit. I don’t know
No, he didn’t. But I bought a probiotics supplement (by my own prescription :D) for after her antibiotics period. Normal yogurt or greek? I tried giving them yogurt 2years ago,but they didn’t like it. Hopefully she likes it now.

Think of it this way, your helping her get better. If she doesn’t take her meds she may not. I am having to give meds to one of mine too. She doesn’t like me picking her up then having to put meds in her but I do it anyway.

Thanks, I will think of it this way.
Cookie is also on antibiotics since yesterday, the last few months was rough for me and the both of them:(
I hope there’s nothing serious with your duck:fl
