Please post your chicken dogs!

I can't find where my husband put those pics of her with our chickens, but my dog is the little Shetland Sheepdog laying on top of the Pug (whose is my mother's dog that I care for sometimes, because he's a little baby who can't be left alone!!

)

Anyway, my dog's name is Lucy. She is only 5 months old, very dainty and sweet, but boy... she loves to herd the chickens! She has never nipped at any of them, never steals their food, and will nap with them when Jelly (the Pug) isn't over here. She also is my toddler's best friend and they sleep together every night. They have an incredible bond.

I would post a pic of her and my son together, but I didn't know if that would be ok or not.

Lucy may be just a baby herself, but once I heard her barking furiously after I let her out for a potty break, and I went outside to investigate. The chickens had made it to the far corner of our yard, and were attempting to get underneath a place in the fence that my husband had forgot to board over. Little Lucy, only 5 months old and with no formal training for this whatsoever, was barking at my hens to keep them back, then circled them twice, and finally herded them away from the fence entirely. The hens were fussing about it but they finally obeyed her and walked back towards the coop!

In short, I am totally in love with this little dog and I'm glad we got her.

oops, thought y'all wanted a dog that wants to eat my chickens. Chooch is a rat terrier, you don't want him around your chickens. He sure is cute though right?

This is Titus, my VERY well-trained/socialized Jack Russell Terrier. Don't try this at home - he really is a special individual and I've had other trainers/breeders tell me they wish they could clone his personality. In general, a Jack Russell is not a breed I would trust with chickens.

(I let him look at this chick to take this photo, then I redirected his attention. He is trained not to not even look directly at the chickens.)

I have spent a LOT of time with him and he has never harmed or chased a chicken. Squirrels are a different matter.

I was thinking the same thing! Just add a couple pigmy goats, minature donkey's and attack geese

My other greyhound, Fox, has decided it's his turn to guard the brooder tubs, 2 cochins in the left, 12 cornish X in the right. So I guess I have a fox guarding the hen house!

This is Nalu she loves chickens, chicks, horses, kittens, cats, puppies and dogs. She loves all people and that's about it.Will kill mole, skunk what ever she can find. She won't let any cat near her chickens. She does want any thing near the barn that she doesn't know or trust. She's a good girl.
