Almost a week later, and a shocking vet bill, I got the cats from the vet.
My poor Ed did not make it, but the injections he was given eliminated his symptoms. So at least in his final days he wasn't having seizures or paralyzed anymore.
I got Smudge from the vet last night, he's on 2 injections and an oral medication for a week. His symptoms are gone, but my veterinarian told me this will be a 2 month long fight to keep brain damage down. I will have weekly vet checkups until we can be certain his brain has gone to normal again.
Long story short, he isn't out of the woods yet.
After I'm finished with Smudge's medications I will write an article for the site. My vet gave me more information, so hopefully it will help more people in the future.
Something else I learned!! When something eats this poison in large quantities, it vomits it out! Even after vomiting, the poison is already absorbed in the system. The vomit is still lethal and now has vomit scent which dogs love (so nasty...). It's grass green and blends in perfectly with your lawn. Please be careful!
