I have 32 eggs in the bator right now and they arent due to hatch until tomorrow night. Well I come home today and see that one is already out of its shell and dry for the most part. Another one was almost out of the shell. I looked and there are 9 that have already pipped. Is there any one thing that is causing this? Could it be that its too hot or something else? I have three different hygrometers in the bator and they are all pretty much around the same temp. This is the first time Ive had this many pipping and hatching early. The hatch I had last week was the first time it had happened to me and I only had a couple hatch early. I just want to make sure this isnt something Im doing wrong. Dont get me wrong, I love to have baby chicks sooner than what Im suppose to.

Mine started pipping at day 18! I had two thermometers, one of which was certified, so my temps were right-on... Enjoy your peeps!

No Im not complaining at all.

I came home from work today and went to post on BYC and all of a sudden I hear chirping. I have week old chicks in the bathroom and I thought it was them. Then I went to look in the bator and got a surprise! Most of the ones hatching are the Andalusian's and the Araucana's are pipping. I just want to make sure its not something that Im doing wrong. Cause like I said the last two hatches Ive had are hatching early. Ive never had this happen before. I'll try to get pictures later and post them.

Hey I have a ? What was your Humidity?
Congrats bye they way on a successful hatch

I used the link below...fluctuated around 50% from days 1 - 18(forced air), then I filled one reservior 1/2 way full, plug it up and out they pop...(still air) I have 13 out of 18 right now. I think we are winding down

I did have a problem with keeping the humidty up this time. I have the Hovabator 1588 and had the plug in, but it seemed that the humidity wouldnt stay. I would put water in it and it would stay at 50-55 for a couple of hours and then I would wake up or come home from work and it would be around 36%. The last two hatches are the first time Ive used the little red plug that came with it. Normally I dont use it. But I had a couple of people tell me I should start using it. So Im not sure if thats why Ive had the problem with the humidity or not.

I had eggs hatch at 19 days and the temps were right on. all the other eggs in the bator didn't hatch until day 21, it was just those paticular chicks, the breeder also had the same thing happen to the batch she set. So it could have nothing to do with you at all

I've noticed lots of people are having early hatches. I put 39 in the bator and they started hatching a day early too. Its now day 22 and they are still hatching.

Okay I had an araucana hatch about about 20-30 minutes ago. Once it finally got out of its shell I notice it still had a bunch of gunk attached to it still. You can kinda see what Im talking about in the picture. There is a little pink bump thats still there. Looks as if it should be inside, not outside. Also its shivering as if its cold. But I know the temp in there is right at 99.5. So I know its not cold. Whats going on with this baby chick? Is there anything I can do to help? I hate to see it like this.
