I have a Wyandotte who is less than a year old. Today I noticed that she is lethargic, puffed up and not socializing like she normally does (her crop is soft, she looks puffy and swollen though). She ate a little out of my hand but I wouldn't count it as her normal. She keeps going from spot to spot laying down and closing her eyes. She is not jumpy either. Usually when I come to the coop she comes running. I am very worried. I have 5 girls and this is my first time as a chicken mom. Any help would be appreciated. She is usually one of the more dominate birds.

Do you mean that her crop is puffy and swollen, but soft, or do you mean that she is puffed up and looks swollen? Sorry, but I just want to clarify. Has she been wormed recently, or has she laid eggs lately? How do her droppings look? There are a lot of things that it could be.

I would treat her for coccidiosis with corid or sulfadimethoxine.
