Please, show me your ducks

Pics
Hi!

I would have to agree, I love the black head on your Runner, a very distinguished marking! Adds to their cuteness!

I know, right?!

Because after much debate, searching the internet and asking the opinion of some others on here, the 2 I thought were hens....are actually drakes 😅 so I have 4 adorable free loaders.

And if you don't want so many drakes, you really are not lucky...

(Thank you for the Internet!)

After much discussion with our 2 kids, we have decided to keep the cayuga and the black swedish looking drake.

Of course you would keep the Cayuga, ah, ah!

Those are the ones they picked from the bin 😏 and I will order 6 hens from a hatchery.

Do you know what breed you will order?

We will most likely hold onto the 2 brown ones for now and then try and re home in the spring.

You could want to re-home them as soon as you get the girls... because if you wait for Spring to come, you could have to manage 4 drakes for 6 hens during mating season if ever you don't find anyone to adopt your drakes then... and you really don't want that!

In any case, good luck!

Yes, they are tame. Why? 🙂

Since ducks from these breeds are renowned to be tame... apparently...
I would have thought your ducks would let you take good pictures of them!

If I'm wrong I apologize, but I get the feeling you're being a little sideways with me. I originally responded to your post because I thought the subject was interesting and always love to converse with others who share my enthusiasm for birds. If I accidentally said something to offend you I'm really sorry, but I feel like you're being mean to me

Hi.

Hmmm... Sorry if I am mistaken, but just in case : are you talking about me?

If so, I am the one who is sorry : I really don't understand why you would think I would want to be mean with you?

Did I, in fact, say something I should not have?
I'm really sorry if I did.

I am happy to be able to talk with people about the birds we love, and I have never tried to be offensive to anyone here... not even to the one who lied to me, and then prefered to delete their posts instead of admiting their mistakes...

I know I can seem cold when I write - since I was already told so in the past... but I assure you it is not volontary; and I am actually trying my best to seem friendly enough so to let people know I am interested in their stories, advices, thoughts... and in seing pictures of their birds.

...I still apologize, sincerely, if what I have written could be misinterpreted, and you feel attacked because of that.

(I am grateful to you, and to everyone here, for replying to my thread and showing me so beautiful pictures...!)
