Please sign this petition against TSCs new brooders

I'm kind of glad I missed this entire thread.

If you don't want to sign the petition, don't. Personally, I think the deaths of the chicks are more related to operator error and delayed shipping, but I don't think there's any harm in trying.

At some point, can generations just get a long a little better here? It has been this way since the beginning of time, the younger generation is lazy, is stupid, is unrealistic and wearing rose colored glasses.

This has always been wrong and will always be wrong. Millennials are accused of being "social media warriors" who can enact no real change simultaneously with someone else blaming them for not spending enough money in this industry or that industry because they don't practice fair trade or are unethical and as a result this company is going out of business. You cannot have it both ways.

We are all just trying to navigate this crazy world as best we can, change the things that we can (and maybe even try to change the things that we can't) and hope that things are always just a little better, in some way for someone, tomorrow. Maybe that's done through signing petitions, maybe boycotts, maybe protests or maybe something else. Trying something to improve a situation you find unacceptable is always better than trying nothing, regardless of whether it is effective or not.
I love you. This was the point I was trying to make earlier in this thread when someone related a generation gap to trying to make a difference. I've never felt theres a difference between older folks and myself. In fact most of my friends are actually much older than myself and we see eye to eye. Ive been told that "if only more people in your generation thought like you" and Ive responded "they do, you just have to talk to them." Age is not a difference, color is not a difference and a generation is not a difference. We are all just people. Thank you for your words ❤

Just because you don't agree with something does not mean you have to go protest or sign petitions or try and change it. You could just live with it, knowing that nobody is the same. Everyone has their own opinion. Yes, some things are bad and might need changed but just because you think something is unacceptable does not mean it actually is. This cancel culture b.s needs to stop. "I don't like it, it hurts my feelings, therefore I will make it change and screw everyone else!😤"

I understand your hate for "cancel culture" and I will admit I'm not a fan as well. This thread was never about that and I sincerely apologize if it came off that way. This thread was about the welfare of animals in a new process with a corporation. I have nothing wrong with TSC and how they do business. They have many products they sell that I appreciate and purchase. At no point did I suggest a boycott of their goods just for them to look at theit new brooder system and make an evaluation beside a few complaints

I understand your point and I know you never suggested a boycott of TSC. My post was in response to the post I quoted

I don't think this thread is for arguing the idea of others, I think its to sign the petition. If you don't agree, down sign it, you really don't even need to open the thread. No need to argue about it, its not nessasary. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe sometimes it is done through a bit of push back against things (like petitions or social media pressure or such) when you think it will result in a worse situation.... meaning that campaign, not the methods themselves.

The guy promoting the controversy (and the update says he hasn't backed off on that, although I give him credit for showing some video of contented chicks in the new brooders at TSC) makes his "farming" income via advertising on his you tube channel... the more controversy he can stir up, the more traffic he gets, the more income he gets. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/07/us/farmer-influencer-youtube.html

Maybe that has nothing to do with his campaign (I don't believe that). And maybe the people at TSC are trying to provide better conditions for the chicks (I do believe that, although I don't think it is the only motivation.)

I’m part of Gen Z and to be honest, I’ve already tossed out my rose colored glasses, so maybe things are changing on that front, unless it’s just me
