Hmmm....so I guess I can give up the daily check for eggs from this particular chicken....lol

I've been watching "her" comb turn redder and redder and even put a nesting box in her coop lol. No wonder "she" kept looking at me like, "what the..."

Well an update: Clem still won't crow. But the voice is deepening and the saddle feathers are growing in. Weird thing tho: I tried putting some docile little hens in with him this evening and he immediately flared his hackle feathers and full-on attacked them! Not mating, this was like a game rooster attacking! I gave it a minute but when it was clear that this was a true attack instead of dominance or mating I finally had to remove Clem to the "bachelor" coop. He was honestly trying to kill those little girls and they were petrified! I put Clem in with another, very old game rooster named Popcorn, and Clem immediately went submissive--he idolizes Popcorn-and the old boy (popcorn) gave Clem a stern voiced admonishment and a half-hearted peck to the back for being so mean to the ladies. It was kind of funny: Popcorn can barely see so he completely misses over half of what he picks at, be it food or another chicken lol...but he is a character and slow and stumbling, and we love him. LOL It doesn't matter how old or young, big and bad or little and scared, they all idolize Popcorn and won't fight with him. He's not able to mate anymore, a rooster must have some balance for that and Popcorn staggers most of the time--did I mention he is like, ancient? But he is a good mentor to young rambunctious roosters and still has enough spunk to keep them in line.

Looks like a roo to me but at that age, seems like you would be seeing and hearing a lot of roo behavior. I have a group of birds the exact same age as yours and all of my roos are crowing and trying to mate with the pullets. I have never had an EE roo though..they could be slower to mature.
