Can anyone venture a guess as to why chicks 3 and 4 have no barring? I’ve read that can mean the cross that produces the sapphire gem wasn’t correct. I’m new to chickens and just trying to educate myself!

Ahhh just my luck! The sapphire gems are so friendly too! They will jump straight into my hands when it’s time to go up for the night!

For future reference, Sapphire Gems are sexlinks, so when they are chicks the males with have head spots and the females won't.

I read about the head spots AFTER buying the chicks, and two had a clear head spot while two did not. Hence why I’m questioning if they truly are sapphire gems.
