^Lol

Yes I also think they are both roosters. Sorry.
Funny, back in 70s the doctors would congratulate you for having a son.

I got her/him from the local Ark Country store, they say they guarantee their breed and they sold her/him as an Ameraucana. I hope they did not scam me. They seem like reputable people.

The foolery usually begins with the hatchery, not the retailer - the retailer is only selling the product they have been given. If they have ordered "Ameraucana" chicks they have a reasonable expectation that that is what they receive and are selling. Of course, the information IS pretty readily available if/when they were to do any looking into the matter (usually as simple as reading the information on the hatchery's own webpage as most have a bit of legal CYOA language in their "breed" description that does essentially tell you it is NOT purebred chicks they are selling) - but when it comes down to it the deception is begun at the hatchery level and the retailers are being "duped" as much as the consumer except when the retailer DOES know and doesn't bother to take the simple step of labeling and selling their chicks as the EE they are.

I would love to keep them but we can only have 10 fowl per city ordinance and so 2 roos for 8 hens I think would be a little too much. That and I don't think either of them would be happy with that ratio. They did a little dance today with full fluff going. Wish I had my phone to video it. They were just dancing around but Melody finally submitted defeat. If anyone would like to take them I am willing to give them to a good home. They are spoiled rotten but super sweet and cuddly right now.
