Ask the Ark Country Store where they get their chicks from and if the breeder sends them birds that fit the American Poultry Assoc. (APA) Standard Of Perfection (SOP). If the birds aren't APA SOP birds they aren't Ameraucanas no matter what they may claim to the contrary. I can almost guarantee they get them from a hatchery. Hatcheries habitually label their Easter Eggers as Ameraucanas or Araucanas or varied misspellings of either becuase they get more money for what is essentially a crossbred chicken that carries the blue egg gene. So the store you bought them from guarantees the chicks are breeds from the hatchery. Whatever the hatchery tells the store it is, is what the stores sell them as as the store personnel usually aren't knowledgeable enough to know what they carry and take the word of the hatchery they buy from. A lot of times it's pure ignorance on the stores part and misleading advertising on the hatcheries part.I got her/him from the local Ark Country store, they say they guarantee their breed and they sold her/him as an Ameraucana. I hope they did not scam me. They seem like reputable people.
