I raise chickens to feed my family. Some get to be pets, but they have to contribute to the household for many years to earn the right.

Although I have never eaten any of my chickens, I support you. Homegrown meat is better than supporting factory and battery farms IMO. Its also better than selling an aggressive male, that shouldn't be done at all.
