Three of my boys plucked all of the feathers out of the back and neck of my fourth boy overnight. It is really bad, very raw and sore looking. I have separated him, and the other boys are being rehomed today (was always the plan). How long before I can safely release him with my other ducks, and how long before his back becomes less sore and the feathers grow in. So upsetting.

I'd give him at least a week separated but where everyone can see him, and get some blue kote it helps heal and disguises wounds so their won't be any pecking of the sore area.

Drakes can be so mean to each other poor boy.

Fantastic, thanks so much. Ive never heard of blue kote. I'll find some for him.

TSC has it and maybe your feed store get the bottle with the dauber though because it's comes out purple and stains anything it touches I have better control with the dauber it's Gentian Violet that makes it purple that is why it disguises the wounds so well.
