My 2 Plymouth Rocks are now 8 weeks old. Pretty sure i have one if not two cockerels. They both have very different body shapes and tails though. Can someone help please?

I'm no plymoth rock expert never raised one but these both look like pullets to my eye. Reason I say that is the feathers down the neck do not have a pointed appearance. Additionally, body language of the birds. Not one is observing you the photographer not one photo has the stink eye glare of a future roo.

If they are Barred Plymouth rocks, then I vote the first to be a cockerel because of the wide barring and the second to be a girl because of the smaller bars and more black in the coloration. Just my opinion.

They were sold as barred Plymouth rocks by a breeder but not sure how reliable that is. Here's a pic of them when little if that helps??

Still staying with my opinion, good luck, nice birds by the way...
Thank you. I'm hoping you're right. They both hold themselves differently. Plus number 1 (who i am sure is a cockerel) is outgoing and confident whereas number 2 is quite low in the pecking order and much more nervous.
