Interesting project. I am trying to breed blue rocks also, but not so much the cockerels, just the laced pullets. I have a cockerel that I grew up just to see the color, and he is a lot lighter than yours. I also have a non barred blue boy that is the darker blue that yous is. Is there a different gene for the light and dark blue?? I thought it was a non black gene that made blue, and 2 non balck that made splash. .........stan
Pullet or cockeral?
Will be 6 weeks old in two days and just over 1 pound
Does not act like a cockeral. Very mild mannered.

I will say pullet because of the dark barring and leg color.
It does have some dark on the front. All of my barred rock cockerels have solid yellow legs at that point and the barring is lighter and wider apart.
She asked for an opinion and I was just giving mine. I have been raising poultry for 30 years and was just trying to help this lady
out.Not trying to get in an argument.
