Plymouth Rock thread!

Thank you snowbird for the info on split wing. I think this is what the dark feathers are. I've looked up a bit of info on split wing. The mother hen doesn't show it, but must have the recessive gene. Now, if I could only find them a roo without split wing in his ancestry!

I have a newbie question. I have six barred pullets and a cockerel that are a little over 4 months old. Most appear to have slipped wings to my untrained eye. Is this something that will molt out as they grow, or did I just have a run of bad luck?
 




I'll get some pictures of the expanded wing in the next few days. I have these few side shots that look pretty normal but the wings seem to have gotten worse since these pictures were taken about 4 weeks ago. The farthest feather on the wing appears to be on the outside, and the primaries hang down, stacked on top of each other.

. I need to get a picture of it next to my BRP eggs. I was pretty impressed with how pretty it was for a first egg, it is small about half the size of the BRPs eggs, but still perfect.
