Plymouth Rock thread!

I have 2 White Rocks. Crazy Betty and Evelyn. We got our chicks during the heat wave last summer and struggled to keep them cool. Betty was hit hard and I didn't think she would make it. She recovered but she "just ain't been quite right" since then. She runs funny and while not unfriendly, just seems uninterested with the rest of her flock mates or the world. I love her none-the -less. Whats funny is when I introduced 2 new hens to the flock, she spent time with them like she sympathized with their new " outcast " status.

I am waiting to get my girls in the next week or two. I am super excited!! We are only getting 3 of the barred rock... I already have 5 plymouth rock gals. How do they adapt into life with older girls? I have the 2 plymouth and then 3 red sex links that are close to a year, then I have 3 more I'm thinking are plymouth (from TS) that are not a week old yet, a golden cochen (sp?) and then 3 ducks :) haha

My eight week old BR's are out in the coop and were running around yesterday here.....First time outside for them.....Most of the snow is gone now and its actually 45 degrees.....So hopefully Spring is coming to Michigan.......FINALLY!! I will post pics later of my finished coop and of the ladies

A golden Cochin sounds very interesting!

Do you have a picture of her?

Just got 2 BEAUTIFUL BR's from a local 4H girl! Will have to get pictures later in the week. She cared for her chickens amazingly, almost like pets. They will have to accept a little less warm fuzzy time from me.
