Plymouth Rock thread!

These two are the only ones that hatched. They are about 2 days old now

Dad is a BR, mom could be a BR or a RIR

Dice is on the left, I suspect he is a roo, and Chance is on the right, I think she is a pullet.

These three are Chance

(sorry she cuddled into my chest, was trying to get a face pic)

These three are Dice

Our Barred Plymouth Rock "pullets"

We are beginner chicken owners so some insight would be wonderful ;) been reading through and so happy we decided on these babies for our family. We have 3 chicken crazy kiddos 6, 4, 18month. Anyway, any opinions on if we snagged a cockrell in our process? We bought them at Orschelins if that makes a difference. I guess the one we are all the most curious about is the one with the very unique coloring on the face (my 4 year old sons pick). Thanks in advance!

An update on my "belles" lol hoping they stay belles

They are about 5-6 weeks now.

Not the greatest picture but here are my 2 BRs pullets, 5-6wks old. Cracks me up how the one on the right is leaning into the picture, photo bomb lol the other was too busy digging for treats.

Well it wad a tiff decision but I went through my SPR last night seperared the pullets and kept 3 of the best looking males for possible breeders, it was a hard decision because they were all gorgeous looking. So if anyone needs any SPR cockerels they are for sell, Diefly Ranch line I hatched from there eggs.

The Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock chicks I got from Dick Horstman are close to 5 weeks old and I can easily tell the males from the females now. I have 7 that are male and 5 that are female. From the start there were around half that were lighter and half that were darker. The lighter chicks are the male chicks and the darker chicks are the female chicks. I am very happy in the health & look of the chicks I received from Mr Horstman.
We also have dick horstman chicks. A little younger though. I've been staring at the the SPR's wondering what's going to be what. One chick was bigger from the start and much lighter than the others. Hmmm one boy and five girls? The bantam barred rocks were a week or two old when he shipped and one of the three had different amount of feathers from the start-smaller feathers and is not filling in as quick as the other two. Now he is getting a red thick comb and the other two aren't. I'm so happy for one boy and two girls! Now gotta figure out those SPR's! Ill post pics.
