Plymouth Rock thread!

Finally got real Barred Plymouth Rocks again after the fire. I am in love all over again. My absolute favourite breed hands down.

Glad you got them!

Hi Aoxa

Did you candle the eggs yet? Good to see that you have hens in the new barn. Looking good!

Hi Silver Rock

Love to see your spprs. I have some about the same age as yours. They just keep getting prettier the more mature they get!

18 embryos. 1 quitter and 8 clears. 8 more days. Going to candle again as I have some others due to internally pip. Growing well!

I'm really looking forward to raising them. You have some beautiful birds!

Hi again Aoxa,

Thank you for the kind words. With that many clears, there must be more than one of the hens that manages to avoid the cock's attentions! Best of luck with the remaining eggs.

Hi All
Between the penciling in the females, the green shine of the males in the sun & how very tame the Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks are is what makes this the breed for me. It will be a challenge to get the size, type and color pattern to the Standard of Perfection, but the satisfaction one gets from seeing improvements in his or her line from year to year makes it all worth it.

This little man made a attempt to crow this morning.
