Lots of rock activity at our place lately. Bred the three SPR hens to the roo that did not have a side sprig. Then collected eggs for a few days and all 7 have veining. Gave the two roo's to a friend who processed them. BTW she said they were delicious and I should open a chicken farmbut it was a terrible experience killing them and she never do it again. I couldn't do they had names. But they were both not show quality and started fighting. Wish I could have put her off a few weeks to make sure the eggs hatch.
so far it is day 9 and I candled them again and they are progressing well. In the bantam coop the BT BR was sneaky and sat on eggs for week before my daughter told me so guess what we have---4 BR crossed with BT SL polish. Oh well my kids love them and that's all that matters! The best part is she is quite an amazing little mother so I know who my broody is.
Hi 4Hgirl, happy to hear that the 7 Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock eggs are doing well and hope you have a nice hatch. Look forward to seeing pictures.
