I really love my rocks. I have a white bantam hen, and two Barred Rocks. They are so cute!

Got CR eggs and only one chick hatched but boy is he, at least I think it's a he, big. Very nice in size. I like him already. I have others but not from the same person.

I can't wait to hatch next year Lord willing. I figure to have at least 25 before next fall.

Dorkings are a nice breed. I'm not sure how endangered they are, but I do think they're pretty birds.

You are correct. A friend of mine did the Del male over the RIR females and all of the chicks looked like Dels. Now if you were to breed those back to Dels would you get any RIR looking chicks in the next generation?

Isn't that cross what is sometimes called an "Indian River?"

Obligatory first egg post! My White Rock laid her first today. Consistent with her somewhat contrary nature, she laid it right at the peak of the ramp into the henhouse. Worst place ever. Sigh.
