Plymouth Rock thread!

Rock N' Faverolles :

Quote:
Tail feathers are usually hard or soft. Hard tail feathers are in most breeds, Rocks for example. Soft tail feathers are in breeds such as the cochin.

Thank you. I have never heard of those terms before.

Ok here is my new baby, he's the beginning of my breeding program for Heritage Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks. I've also included pics of his girlfriends to be, but I'm probably boring you.

I have to admit i completely screwed up quarantine. During a little nightmare with the waterer in my layer pen and while trying to fix it, everyone got out. So here you have all my hens hanging around the QUARANTINE cage to see the new "trophy" mom brought home....argh....so I'm just crossing my fingers...I put him in with the SPPR girls tonight. He is the cleanest bird I've ever seen- his legs and toes look like he just had a mani/pedi!

Boy I sure hope he's clean on the inside too or I'm really in for it... argh....help me Rhonda...doo run run run

I love that I'm in the "less than 10 breeders in the country" category on this breed. (At least that's what I've been told) They are gorgeous, big & beautiful...in my opinion

so that's why all the questions he was hatched 7/25 still just a baby in the next 2 months he will really bloom and I kept him on rubber mats with shavings since it started to rain and I have it available. I'm so glad too I was cleaning the outdoor run that was nasty but with the rubber mats I just shovel it off and put down more rice hulls and shavings I thought I might need to hose it off but it's looking good and if I'd rig up my poop slings life would be easier....so I know 6 "breeders" well 2 for sure the rest of us are just starting on the journey of breeding Silver Penciled Rocks they are so beautiful....
