Well, I have fallen prey:

I have ordered 25 BR girls from Mt. Healthy, plus 4 boys.
fun begins April 8 when they arrive.

My friend breeds silver penciled plymouth rock bantams... Can you sex them when they're chicks by color? I heard the female BARRED rocks have a greenish tinge to their legs.... is this true with SPPR Bantam? Thanks, CBS

Our first post here but we got our first 5 Barred Rocks lasy July, ended up with a roo and 4 hens..... Wonderful birds, lay well since Dec 29. We've also added Silkies and Orpington's - buff and lavender - to our collection. I decided to collect some BR eggs to incubate.Of 13, 4 were clear, so the 9 went in to lockdown on 3/2. Our first hatched sometime today 3/3 and we have another pipped........ They will all go to their new home on 3/5 if all hatched in time.....

By the hackles and saddles and tail feathers, right?

Once the feathers start comming in you should be able to tell by color
