Nice looking group of heritage type Columbians there Ron looks like you did very well with them also this year, keep up the good work. It's good to see something a little different on this PLYMOUTH ROCK thread. Boy if only those with the Buffs and Partridge types would just come on here and post a few pics, we'd really have some eye candies going on here, I've been seeing and looking at a few of ya'lls Silver-penciled Rocks, Nice an good and thanks for posting them.


FYI There's an AWESOME set of White Rock pics posted over to the Heritage thread, go see them. I'm sure they will make it over to here eventually.

I'm sorry this took me forever! Big Poppa would not cooperate with me and would stop whenever I took my camera to video him for you.
So this morning I left them in the coop for a few minutes and did a video for the sound. haha
During the video you hear my three roo's. Two are little, a cochin and a naked neck. (They are still very young)
The very last crow is my barred.

From the birds I have seen from him, his reputation is well deserved.

We recently traded some of our Heritage RIR to a gentleman for 7 Barred Rock chicks. They were part of his chick order from Jeremy.
Looks like we have 2 cockerels and 5 pullets! They are around 3 weeks old and are really healthy and vigorous. The little cockerels look like they have been eating fertilizer. They seem to grow by the minute.

I have a question.... I have some solid blue rock that are showing barring. I am pretty sure it is autosomal barring, but my question is does that breed forward? I don't want barring in my SOLID Rocks

I had one that I didn't know the origins of and she showed some so I have her in my barred pen, but now I have another from some hatching eggs and started thinking maybe the first girl was autosomal barred too.
