Hello Everyone,

I have (2) beautiful polish roosters that are in need of a great home! They are both 15 weeks old; one is a white polish and the other a golden polish. I was hoping that they where both hens, but then they began to crow, oops! We already have a full-grown, 3 year old white silkie rooster who free ranges our backyard with his girls.

Please let me know if you are interested in one of my gorgeous polish roosters.

Thanks,
Sandy

EDIT: Added some pictures of the (2) Polish boys...

Ooohh! I wish I lived closer to you and didn’t already have four roosters 🤪. Someday I plan to get a Polish boy and I’m totally naming him Bowie 🥰.
He definitely earned the (new) moniker. He is tall and lanky, pure white, very vocal (he loves "singing" all day long) and has quite a bit of arrogance/swagger to boot!

This last batch of (11) chicks we picked-up, we ended up with 4 roosters once they matured and started crowing. Our established silkie rooster isn't very mean (he's actually a very sweet boy) but we don't think having 5 roosters on 1/2 acre would work out too well, unless we built multiple "rooster only" coops to keep them segregated.

We ended up with an Ayam Cemani rooster and another (Amber Bearded?) Silkie rooster that I am hoping will cohabitate with our flock without causing too much trouble with our big rooster boy.

Here's a couple pictures of our big Silkie boy, Chocolate (he is not up for adoption):

Also, just FYI - all the chicken names were picked-out by Sandy's preschool class kiddos, and voted on by the kids to keep it democratic. Hence, the many unique and food-related names that have been applied to our feathered friends ☺️🥰

Man! You guys have worse luck than I do :lau ! I do have separate compartments for some of my boys and a bachelor pad on my family property across the street for some brothers that hatched out a year or so ago .

If you end up going this route, you would only need one rooster-only coop, since all the “extra” roosters would be able to live together without hens.

We considered it, but concerned the roosters would beat each other up too much and become more aggressive if left together.

We've contacted everyone we could (locally) and have not found anyone willing to take them in as "working roosters". We may drop them off at a local farm who will take them to auction (their fate to be determined by the purchaser at auction), but we really don't them them to be culled or eaten - they are still very young and don't have much meat anyway.

Our hope is to keep at least 2 (of the 5) new roosters that we have been raising.
  • The Ayam Cemani is getting big and has been at the top of the pecking order. He is (mostly) well-behaved and exhibiting signs that he will be a great flock protector.

  • The little bantam Silkie 'roo is much smaller and has such a sweet and calm demeanor. As long as the other (2) roosters don't bully him, I think he will be very docile and non-aggressive. So far, the Ayam Cemani has not picked on him at all and I don't think he sees him as competition or a threat.
The 2 Polish roosters we are looking to re-home are a bit more crazy and unpredictable. They seem to cause a raucous in the coop and are frequently chasing/being chased by eachother and the Ayam Cemani roo.
