POLISH ROOSTER with STANDARD HENS?????

My hens have pulled all the feather's our of my polish roo's head. I have hi seperate now with my silkies and they seem to leave him alone. Poor guy looks bad.

For a time I had a polish roo with standard hens and he was THE BOSS... there was no picking of his top knot with them.

I have three polish with 15 standard hens (all the same age, May 1 hatch date). Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 have male-pattern bald spots from the hens picking. I've tried the top knot and hot pick but they still get picked on. My least dominant one is fine for some reason. Problem is, the hens won't let their feathers come back in...I even tried getting a flock block and leaving the lights off when they're roosting at night so they don't pick when they're sitting next to eachother. The roosters seem fine, despite the baldness.

I should also mention that they're not wusses around the hens or anything, they just don't seem to mind the occasional pick. I formerly caught the hens at lights out picking away with the rooster just lovin' in, sitting there like he was being groomed. Kind of sad.

I also have some Polish in with my regular hens and roosters in my DW's Foo-Foo hairdo flock, they all get along just fine, they know there place and it is pretty peaceful in that coop. Although I don't have any in with my Manly birds so I can't say there.

I have polish hens and rooster all mixed in with full grown chickens, silkies, and cochins....other than the regular in-fighting, there's no serious issues....BTW, he's a funny little guy....

My polish roo (Napoleon) is in with all the others and he doesn't have a problem with his head feathers his problem is with his tail feathers. Without his tail feathers he looked like someone forgot to finish the cartoon picture! He was not well accepted by the flock even though they grew up together. He is often by himself and at one point they wouldn't let him sleep on the roost. But we added a dozen more family members this spring and all is well! The tail feathers are back and when he's not trying to sneak a "quicky" with one of Big Reds girls life is peaceful in the yard.
