The Polish Breeders Club has some good stuff on that - They show the Bantam Standard (which is quite similar to LF) for Polish, Sultans, Houdans, etc. Also, you can look at pics of Polish from shows, ask people around, and even purchase the APA Standard of Perfection book.

What Illia said! I have to especially "second" the suggestion to look at shows--I think the best place to learn about the ideal for a particular breed is a poultry show. See the birds in person, chat with the breeders, and pick the brains of the old-timers that have been doing this forever!

Depending on what varieties you are looking for, I may have hatching eggs you might be interested in, or could suggest other breeders who might.

Cute cute! I cant wait to see what they turn out to look like!

I will defenitly give updates.

can anyone point me to the standard for LF polish? my husband purchased a (described as breeding quality) wcblue roo and two wcblk hens (one frizzle) and we're trying to assess their match with breed standards. we were excited to hatch the first 3 chicks and set 12 more eggs this week. We want to use the standard to select which chicks to keep and find out the optimal weight for LF which isn't listed on the polish breeders website as far as I can see.

new photos of my wcb polish, i grew them both out from 4 moths and they are almost one year oldnow.

I haven't read all 15 pages so sorry if this has been asked...my exotic rare chick this time is a Buff Laced Polish(hey not an EE) We don't have Polish but my kids have been begging so...I'm guessing a roo but since MM really bombed with my first order a pullet could be an apology

OK now the question..I see in the baby chick picture they show a more white and a more yellow chick...is that a random thing or do roos tend to be a different shade than the girls(like Barred Rocks the roos are more gray and not dark black) Mine is the creamy white not yellow.I want them to settle in before scaring them with the camera monster but it is just adorable.
Guess now I have to subscribe to yet another topic so I can take a crash coarse in Polish..my daughters dream chicken is a Naked Neck Polish top hat in frizzle

You sure it is a buff laced? MM also does white, and it could possibly be a white polish - I know that when we got ours, it was quite difficult to tell them apart. Supposedly the buff has a darker undertone though. . . Sadly they never grew old enough for me to find out though.

So, it looks like I was about to receive some Tolbunt eggs tomorrow, but since my bators are sadly full. . . I'll be getting them somewhere around the 16th, as that is my hatch day.

When the little'uns grow up, though - I'm hoping I can settle with crossing my Silver Laced with them. I know people usually do gold laced or spangled birds with them, but I don't have any - And supposedly crossing the two will create a sort of partial gold laced bird. Once that is taken back to the Tolbunts, I should get an improvement.

Just went back and checked, the original True black crested whites were a cross of the a Lakenvelder to w.c. blacks, then were taken back to a crevacouer. And there was also some silkie mix added at one point. This comes from the article on the Polish site about the bc whites. There's a full write up on them there.
The ones above do look the part, but do have a tiny crest, a lot like a crevie would have.
Here's a pic of mine again, our of Jim Parkers lines in bantam

You can some of the differences there, and yes, they are a pain in the butt to breed properly at the moment, due to all the lines used to create them, and also yes, the males are the hardest to get in that color, going to take a lot of work to perfect

What do you cross to get these kind of polish................there so cool/pretty looking !!!!
