I didn't see a thread for Polish so I decided to create one.
Post your photos & stories of your Polish below!

We currently own 2 Golden Laced, 2 Buff Laced, and 1 White Crested Black.
3 cockerels and 2 pullets.
We have a large flock but this is how many Polish we own.

I have a Buff-laced bearded Polish pullet
(age 10–11 weeks).
This Polish girl (her name is Pom-Pom, haha), absolutely LOVES ME!
I’m not sure why she is so attached to me, she is in with other chickens (bantams),
but every time I open up their home, she runs out and almost right away - - -
Hi Pom-Poooom!” “CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP!
Whatcha doin’ Pom-Pom?!” “CHEEP CHEEP CHEEP!-jumps on my lap-
Oh hi pretty Pom-Pom!” “CHEEP! -lays down on my lap, lets me pet her(!)-

In other words, she is absolutely adorable, super friendly, super tame,
and is definitely the most people-loving chicken I’ve ever met, out of SEVEN breeds!
She talks back to me when I speak to her, she knows her name, and her peoples!
She’s such a pretty girl, with all her beautiful head-feathers :3.
Polish chickens get a bad rap (“dumb as rocks”), but this girl is actually extremely smart, she just can’t see all that well sometimes due to her wild hair;
I’m gonna have to give it a trim pretty soon!

The only other one that comes pretty close to my Polish girl is Gracie,
a Self-Blue Old English Game Bantam girl who is also very tame, calm, elegant,
tiny, cute, and full of self-assurance and grace (thus her name!).
That girl also lets me touch her, pet her, talk to her, she even hops onto my lap
every now and then, especially if Pom-Pom is already there :p.

I have 5 Polish chicks. They came from the feedstore since I cant find Polish breeders around here. I confess it was kinda a impulse buy lol. I think I have 2 black w white crest. 2 blue w white crest and 1 buff laced. I pray they arent all roos lol. They are only a few weeks old.

I know this thread is old, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience with shipping polish with other chicks. I had one shipped with other chicks this week and it was DOA. All the other chicks are healthy but that one passed. I’m getting 2 more with a order next week but have never owned this breed, and was wondering if they are more sensitive than other breeds or if anyone has noticed a difference between them and other breeds.
Thanks,
-ChickenWhisperer101
