Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After reading what you all have said about difficulties introducing and keeping Polish with other breeds, my husband agreed to help me build an add on to the coop and run just for my polish. They aren't big enough to go out quite yet, but it won't be long.

I don't blame you that's what we are doing. Hopefully we will have it done soon.. :) good luck. :)

We started a massive project for our polish (banging forehead) wanted to use what was available SO 'fell' a dying tree..had a fallen cedar(after byc learned cedar can harm chicks lungs) so only using cedar for the ground posts.
Its massive&LMBO probably nicer then our house. ANYHOW got floor boards all done&its stable. Have planed boards for walls but apparently time is what gets you "o'natural" so after April&may down pours in VA we are waiting on boards to cure. I can't wait untill building is complete but I can't get more polish untill next spring

well unless they are free polish, or our current polish start laying...which from what I can search&read might not happen for a few months yet. No rush but if this all comes together as I'm dreaming wow will be SO fun to invite local kids over to pet, feed&get educated on the different breeds in our flock. Eeek- I get giddy just typing about it.

Hey Dw,,mind sharing how you trim yours? Lotus flew across our back yard yesterday(yikes, was so thankful she landed safetly and came back to us). Particularly the long underneath sections of wings. They are getting long way faster then I thought they would.

I only trim around the face/eyes on mine so they can see better but for curbing their flight you want to hold the wing out and cut the flight feathers. Here is a good video

Lol I'm a night owl(around 3:30am here-usa,e.s.t.)so soon as I'm allowed to have sound with out waking the family up I will check it out. I can't wait to see it,thanks for getting back to me on info!
