Does you guy have problems with eye moisture? Mine had long feathers like that and it started getting moist around his eye. I started trimming his hair which I suppose is good. He walked into things also lol. But I would love am alternative...

Nope he is fine i also have an older male but his crest was picked out buy the other chickens so hes half bald but neve have had a problem with mostier.

Is the one with long 'hair' a male?

Yea he is a male and you must keep the 2 together or they start screeming and flailing around but if you hold them together they are fine.
This is my breeding pair untill i order more chicks in the spring.
