I want to get Polish again. I Love polish chickens!
these are my Polish I use to have before the rat came. He killed all my polish on night. I had a buff rooster, and about 4 hens. I miss them so much
Possibly Cocci. I would treat with Corid. 2 teaspoons per gallon of water for 5 days. They don't always have bloody stools in the early stages. You may have to dip its beak into the Corid water to make it drink to be sure it is getting the medication it needs.
Hope it gets better!

Quote: I had a bird (not a Polish) acting the same way, also empty crop and low appetite. Turned out that she had mites. I checked her 4 times and did not see the mites the first 3 times. Get a very bright light and check around the vent for bugs. They are VERY small. I did not know they could have physical symptoms (low energy) from mites/fleas.
I just found this thread. I had posted before on another Polish thread, but it seems to have gotten buried. Anyway, I just took some new pics of my boy, Bowie, on his 6 month Birthday this evening and thought I'd share. He's my only Polish right now (I have 8 laying hens that are his "wives") but I would like to eventually get a Polish pullet or two for him as well. Bowie is my heart! I've had him since he was just a few days old and he's the sweetest boy...acts like a lap dog!
This is Bowie with one of his wives, Abigaille.
Also, for educational purposes (and I've got my big girl panties on so don't worry about hurting my feelings!) I would love to know how/where Bowie departs from show quality standards! I think he's beautiful but I do know he's pet quality...I would just like to know why, for my own education!
Here are the 6 that I hatched out. They are still pretty gawky looking. Their toes look awful in the pictures, but they were having a hard time standing on the chair back.
Opinions are always welcome, my big girl panties are on too. I believe the middle bird in each pic is a roo, going by the crests.
