Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pics
In an effort to educate myself as to the breed standard, I would love it if the experienced breeders/exhibitors here would tell me what is good and/or not so good about my Bowie. He's my only mature Polish (he's 9 months old) and my other three are still only 3 months old so I know it would probably not make sense to evaluate them until they are a little bit older. I am not going to get my feelings hurt....I have been breeding horses for over 30 years and I'm not "barn blind" (if anything, I'm more critical than outsiders are of my own stock!) so please fire away! (Nothing anyone says is going to make me love him any less, anyway! LOL) I truly want to learn about this breed so that I can raise quality birds!

Thanks in advance,
Katja

p.s. in the first pic, he's about 6 months old. The second one was taken yesterday. He's grown a bit more tail. :)

Here are some Photos of my new Polish Breeding Flock They are all standard in size
Does any one know what colour my Laced Rooster is - He looks silver laced, but is a creamy colour instead of the silver
colour ? Also is my blue and buff rooster, blue laced gold or blue spangled gold ?

I absolutely love the markings of these birds especially the speckled one. How on earth did you create them by just mixing and matching various colorings? Or did you buy them from someone?

I found it quite funny how people reacted to my photos

I am only a young member, and very new to the Polish. What you have to realise is that Polish are very RARE in Australia. And it is hard to get any of the Lacing or standard colours. There is no such thing as tolbunt in this country or where i live. As we do not yet have that colour beeding in our country, or not that i know of. So i am just having fun breeding my Polish, and experimenting with my laced colours to see what i can get. All though these may look like mutts to some people, Im very proud of them. As most people have not seen any colour or even seen a polish apart form the WC/ Black / WC/ Blue or Self White where i come from.

Also Some one wanted to know how i got the speckled one - By Crossing a Silver laced hen with plane WC Black rooster

Ok, hello everybody. I want to get into polish, but I want to try to create a new color, or variety or something. How should I go about that. Thanks

It is very easy. Just order several varieties of Polish from your favorite hatchery. When they are adults put them in the same pen and come up with cute names for all the colors they produce.

Seriously, I thought you have to get chickens you want to breed from a breeder, cause chicks from hatcheries aren't show quality ;)

So, just put lots of colors of polish together?, no planning?, will they seriously create "new" colors, or will they all be colors that have been produced?
