Okay, I have W.C. Polish chicks that I got from Murray McMurray. They are about 1 month old, and I ordered 1 rooster and 4 hens. I lost one, and so I don't know if I have a rooster or not. Then yesterday, I noticed that one of my birds has a spikier crest, and has little red wattles. Does that mean he is a rooster?

It would be an indicator that it is probably a rooster. But at a month it is still early, Hope it turns out to be a rooster for you.

THE MAGIC HAS BEGUN!

I just set 3 polish eggs under marshie! (at 6:30 PM) she is now the happiest camper alive. smile.png I couldn't resist....LOL. I called my breeder and asked for ameraucana, polish or australorps, but he only had 3 polish...all others were bought that day.

SO I paid $4.50 for 3 eggs.....it will be well worth it, and hopefully I will end up with cool crossed colors, no frizzles, and NO MIXED BREEDS. (its happened twice...trust me. LOL)

NOW 21 DAYS OF WAITING! due to hatch on the 29th.



these are my very first polish as well! I hope everything goes smoothly from now on.

We are hatching on the 29th as well under a broody hen that has 14 eggs/ 8 different polish breeds. So exciting, this is our first hatch!

I have three, almost 4 week old buff laced polish. One has a scissor beak. They were straight run, so I'm hoping I end up with a female! I ordered 3, so I'd have better odds LOL. I'd be even happier if I had 2 females and one male! Although, one has the scissor beak, so wouldn't be good to let them have babies.
