I am curious. I have ordered white crested black polish and silver laced polish. 3 WC black Polish are sooooo mischievous, though gentle. They like to run away and they run so fast. But my Silver laced polish are soooooo calm and composed. They both love human touch, they are so docile and calm, they behave like a dog sometimes, even the cockerel! Since I ended with 2 cockerels (one WC, one SL), I think I am going to keep SL and rehome the WC.
QUESTION is: are they really different in their temperament because of the breed? Or am I just lucked out????

I have noticed this too with my WCB girls compared to all of my other polish. I had a silver lace roo and he was so friendly and liked lap sitting. I still have my WCB girls and they are very mischievous compared to my others. They are also very noisy and squark and bauk for attention!!
I think it a question of them being bred differently and I don't think you have lucked out, it is just them!!

Ah, ok, so it is the breed disposition. Now I know what breed to add as I looooove Polish. Yes, even the SLP roo is a lap chicken!!! I am so amazed. He got pooped on so bad yesterday and i bathed him. After bath, he smells so nice and i put him on my shoulder as I was just lounging and sitting down in the garden. He did not move. He even fell asleep while roosting (and I got pooped on the back LOL).

What about BUFF laced polish? Anybody can give me any hint about their disposition? Sweet and calm like SLP? Or mischievous?

I have had many a polish. The sweetest I've had are cuckoo. I've only had one buff laced and he is absolutely rotten. That's just my experience though, may just be how George is.

How can i find breeder? So gold lace are like slp, sweet and calm? I need 2-3 hens..... Desperately. I ended up with 3 (2 WCB, 1 SLP) roos and 2 girls. 1 has been given away for fighting with the other WCB. The only remaining WCB cockerel now is very mischievous!!! He is just like a rebellious teenager. He is not mean at all and faaar from being aggressive, just naughty.

I want calm polish. So maybe i should consider gold lace and cuckoo?

My calmest are deffinately cuckoo and gold laced. My WCB are crazy! Not mean at all, but not pet like. I guess that normal!
Maybe check the buy sell trade section on here?
I keep ending up with Roos when I buy chicks. I breed gold laced and barred (as well as self black, splash, WCB, and crele) I'm in NC though...

What do you think about frizzle polish (is it the same as tolbunt polish)? Even the tolbunt are different in colors! What do you think?

My calmest are my WCB and cuckoo. My whites are on other hand are really flightly. The pair I got two weeks ago still freak out if I get within 25 feet of their pen. My WCB will practically come and sit in your lap. When I filling their water, they will walk under my crouching legs, my whites would be as far away as possible.
