Do waddle on polish automatically scream roo? Mine are 6 weeks and one is starting to show pink waddles.

Not always but what I've found is that most breeds who get reddening or wattles early on usually turn out to be a rooster.. mines started showing around 4 weeks. The 2nd one was closer to 6 weeks.

Okay, it's Hen or Roo time! Phyllis (Phillip?) is 4 weeks old. She's pretty assertive- the most dominant of my 4 chicks.

The kind with the marbles on the ends? Or just the rubber band type? How tight is too tight?

I used the no tangle small ones. I didn't even wrap it. Just basically put it on like a headband.

question - When my EE/OE's were two weeks old, the boys had much smaller tails than the girls. I could tell which would be boys or girls by their tail for all except one. Can you guess the gender of a polish that way? One of my nearly 2 week old buff polish has a crest poof that is bigger than the other two, but it's tail is the same as the ones with a smaller poof. Any thoughts or suggestions on this? or will it be one big guessing game until their crest feathers grow in. LOL

All of your polish crested birds are SO CUTE. I can't wait until mine get their feathers!

Can someone help? This morning these 2 were trying to crow. I think so anyway. I'm a newbie to chickens. Can someone tell by the pics if they are roosters. The grey one has wattles.
