Hello

I have some gorgeous golden laced and buff laced polish hens, and a golden laced roo. I'm new to chickens (and falling madly in love

) and I was wondering what a judge would look for if I were to show my polish? Or what traits I should breed for?

We ordered some pet Polish from Ideal Hatchery for the kids. Our two silver laced ones have definite male hairdos that come to extreme points but NO wattles. I am certain they must be males. Our two wc blacks have girly, much curvier crests but HUGE wattles. I am assuming they are males too, but just wanted to run it by you all for confirmation. If they are, this will make 13 males of the 15 st. run birds we ordered from them this summer! ARRRRGGGGG! Something is seriously wrong with those odds!

Hi there! Just bought a silver laced cockerel at a chicken swap today! The woman says he is 5 months old but has never crowed or tried to crow????? Is this normal? I really hope she is right haha! She also said he is a stud muffin and likes breeding to her silkie girls. He is also making a lot of "chick" noises, like the soft peeping. I will get pictures after he is cleaned up, he is disgusting and has lice I found out after
