I have 5 chicks from my White Crested Chocolate rooster over Blue and Black Silkie hens. The parent birds are all very nice quality, but that doesn't really change the fact the chicks are cross breeds. I got all the parent birds at a poultry show, and let them live together until we had a new pen to separate them.
These chicks are about two months old, and they are all solid Blue or Black. It is possible they will get in some miss-colored feathers later on, but I think they will stay the same solid color they are now because of their genetics.
