Just in case you have not gotten the news in your town in CA...Obamacare is the law of the land and if you have 50 or more employess you may have a legal obligation to provide them with health insurance or pay a penalty equal to about $750.00 per year per employee. Now, the penalty may be actually less then the cost of providing health insurance so some employers may opt to do that, So to answer your question as to when that happened....NOT TO LONG AGO!! But I would get used to it because it is here to stay. And by the way, employers who believe that all their employees are entitled to are their paycheck are the pigs I am talking about. Just to give you a few actual examples we can take Applebees, Papa Johns, Dennys and McDonalds. Zane Tankle owns about 40 Applebees in the NY area and he makes more money then you can imagine. As a political statement he made some comments about Obamacare before the election and because most people realize that the institution of Obamacare will have no real negative effect on Applebees or Zane Tankle, the business has now significantly suffered. The same thing happened to Papa Johns, except in their case they have a lousy product and should be out of business anyway. When a Dennys owner talked about adding an Obama surcharge the backlash was immediate and harsh. People just do not like pigs. Now take McDonalds. Their attutude is we face a variety of changing costs every year and this is just one of them and we will have no problem overcoming and continuing to make profits as the number one fast food chain in the world.
