Never checked the ordinances! I'm in "the sticks", tho. No one close enough to really "bother". It hard to believe that chickens COULD even be a bother to someone!!

You have a constitutional right to know the charges against you. The fact that you've asked for the ordinance several times and they have not given it to you speaks volumes to me. A city/town cannot legally make up law as it becomes convenient--there is a right a legal format that must be followed.

This very morning, at 3-ish, I became a 2 time scofflaw!!

I hatched 1 chick more than I'm supposed to have, added to the 2 roos I'm not supposed to have.

Technically, I'm perfectly entitled to the 14 pullets and hens, and the 4 chicks are genderless until proven otherwise...

Legal for the county (open rural, residential)

Now here is the kicker, we live surrounded by farms. The only homeowners insurance company that will write for this area says "no livestock". "Chickens might rip someone's eye out".

So, illegal in that regard

Thinking someone was traumatized as a child or watched too many Hitchcock movies.
