I ordered the Run Chicken solar powered door. I’m currently building my coop. Looking forward to installing it!
Although I haven’t completed the building of my coop (getting my pullets next April), I installed the Run Chicken “Eternity” model a month ago to test it. So far it has not failed. It opens 20 min after sunrise and closes 20 min after sunset. I’m impressed!

My run chicken door has worked well.

At first it locked them out, because it was darker in the coop than it was in the run, and they wouldn't go in. I'd manually open the door, and scoot them in.
One night I found two of the chickens pinned. They were 7ish weeks old? It was new for all of us (chickens and humans), and they were still so little, but they were okay. I remember wondering if they were pinned because they tried to go through the door at the same time, or if I should have been thankful that one of them didn't get stuck alone.

Finally I added some light at night. I'd turn it off after dark.
They don't need it anymore.

That was 10 weeks ago. 😊
They're almost ready to lay now.
Except the rooster. I'll get no eggs from the rooster.
Peavey Mart claims a 90% sexing rate.
I bought 6. 🫠

I'd buy the door again.

My original Run Chicken door has been impressive for its reliability. I wish it had an On/Off switch and a battery hatch door but otherwise no complaints. The price is high but the convenience and peace of mind, is worth it. In the end my chickens agreed to lay enough eggs to pay for it so, how could I say no?
Agreed. Pricey but worth it. I don’t even give a thought to it, It just does it’s job
