I live in Farmland. Here in Farmland, the neighbors sign a document acknowledging that they have to put up with Farmland noises.

I have always loved the idea of selling POL pullets. How much do you get for them? What breeds?

I'm just getting started with this. I raised extras from my chicks this year and sold the two spares for $15 each.

I'm not sure how it will work out over time.

Until Friday, I had five 8 week old cockerels.
Gave three away, looking for a home for one of the remaining. After I find him a home, I’ll keep the other and get 3-4 pullets. Someday I might build a bigger coop, but for now I’ll work with what I’ve got.

I have 7 hens right now.
I have 23 day olds coming April 30/May 1st....all different breeds. OEG, modern game, orpington, Brahma, duccle, silkie, naked neck....the list goes on. One or two of each but they will be brooded all together. Will sell the roosters and also any pullets I decide not to keep once they’re POL.
We also plan to hatch silkies and tolbunt polish.
By late fall I will have my final flock of no more than 20.
We did this last year and it worked great! Last year we hatched out a million cockerels

Right now I have 13 females and 1 male.
Ages from 11 months to 4 years.
Will be getting and/or hatching some new chicks this spring.
Might replace the current male with one of the new cockerels.
Will pare it back down to 18 or less before next winter.

I feel ya! My broody hatch was 100% cockerels this past summer

What breeds do you keep?

The last few years I mostly have the BCM cock and CLB hens and their OE offspring.
Older birds are a few EE's and Welsummer x EE offspring.
New birds will be BCM and (real) Ameraucanas(7 year dream finally fulfilled).

What kinds are your "incubators? (Please don't say silkie or cochin. LOL)
