We started small, with an old wire reel.

As our flock grew, we built a bigger coop.

This worked out for quite a while, until chicken math kicked in. Then we started using what we could to add on to it. I did a post, don’t know how to link to it, but it’s the hillbilly condo of chicken coops.

Then added more, never been good at math. 🤦🏽‍♂️

We are going to replace it all with one large coop somewhere down the line. Move the ladies into a penthouse. Maybe keep the hillbilly condo to contain the roosters.

I started with a small tsc coop that I attached to a old 12 x 12 dog kennel. I now have a purpose built building that took all summer to build. Planning started around the first of the year and I started on it in late april, birds were moved in around middle of september. Heres the “now” and “then” pictures.
