If you read well you can notice I have no problem with saying my line was based off your stock...but when I breed the offspring is mine not yours... answer me this because Miami leghorns didn't...if I crossbreed your bought stock...is the offspring still your line?
Yes the offspring is yours but you can't take all the credit for it.

A little respect for people who have done a lot of work over many years is a good thing to have.

I think it should. It sure works with hatcheries, so I don't see why not. If a reputation is built, the name will mean a lot, even after a long period of time.
Maybe not the best example. Most hatchery lines aren't something to brag about and are often inconsistent with the breeding and resulting offspring. Especially with how misleading many of the names that hatcheries' give their lines. Explain how something can have "Leghorn" in the name without a drop of leghorn blood.

Yeah, they have a bad rep, but it works the same way. If hatcheries can create their own breeds and lines and name them after themselves, I don't see why breeders can't. Obviously, hatcheries are known to do a bad job, but if a breeder does a good job conistently, they build up a good reputation.

Lol probably not a good example but people still use the hatchery a lot to explain where there line of birds came from
