I can't eat fresh pineapple either... my mouth/tongue feel burned/raw if I eat it fresh. Maybe I'm just unique:gig:gig:gig
You are not alone. Pineapple is one of those special foods that bites back. It bites everybody back.

Pineapple contains bromelain, a mixture of two protein-digesting enzymes (called proteases), a corrosive chemical that breaks down amino acids (that's why pineapple is an effective and delicious meat tenderizer). It's the one-two punch of bromelain and acid that really drives the stinging sensation home.

I didn't check your "where in the world are you?" but you sound like you might be from above the Mason Dixon Line, or of that lineage, lol! It's rare to meet a northerner who has proper appreciation for Duke's.
Yeah I’m from Massachusetts hahah went to Myrtle Beach in June and saw Dukes in the store and had heard about it from a radio program with a woman who claimed it was the best mayonnaise so I thought I’d try it. :lau it was pretty good but not the greatest lol

I have EXTREME asthma. Like, I'm on hydroxyzine, singulair, advair, duoneb and have a rescue inhaler in two rooms of my house, my car, and my bench at work. Cardio is HARD for me. Lifting was my answer to my bogus windbags. I, in fact, have a full rack, bench, olympic weight set and a whole free weight set with a deadlift platform in my house. Worth.
:drool I'm jealous. I have a couple rusty old weights, a treadmill, and a weight stack. I can get by, but I'd kill for a setup like that.

Called it!

Also, it's just a better grade of mayonnaise... if someone told me to try the new Heinz Ketchup sweetened with honey because "it's amazing", I wouldn't expect it to be actually amazing. BTW, that honey ketchup is pretty good.

The only amazing condiment is Chick-fil-A sauce, and don't start blaspheming with any negativity about it.View attachment 2790396
Oh I would never! I LOVE Chik Fil A sauce!! It’s addictive hahaha

Dawg, don't waste food, even disgusting food! Just stop buying more.

Funny you mention it, that exact routine is what I'm doing. :highfive: I haven't cut rice, but that's essentially the last starchy food regularly in my diet. I'm not an expert on weights yet but I have a decent routine going—well, I've been insanely busy these last few weeks, so I haven't been too consistent with that.
Yeah, I’ll probably just ration it instead of tossing it. Unless it’s expired. I don’t even know what we have atm; the cabinets need a major cleaning. I know some is like candy/straight nasty though.

I was extremely fortunate to have purchased my setup before covid. When I purchased, weights were 80 cents a pound. Now they are 2 dollars a pound. People are not comfortable returning to gyms yet. I wouldn't be either. If I recall, sticker on my arrangement was $2k. It's a little over 2 years of gym fees, but I can lift naked in my house with nobody lookin'. I do not miss that part of the gym. The looking. I feel eyes on me. I have a lot of trauma, and I do not find pleasure in the looking.

@SarahLadd I was gonna say the same thing about pineapple as a tenderize.
And I've went full circle today talking about steak way earlier in this thread and now I'm back to tenderizer for steak.....
Guess I know what I'll make for dinner.
I'm tenderizing meat right now, but it's chicken thighs and strips of breast in buttermilk. French chicken tarragon with a side of roasted brussels sprouts is the menu today. I had to make my own crème fraîche.
