Thanks for the tips!! Thankfully they’ve never really seemed interested in eating the perches, just playing on them, but I do have toys and chewy things tooLooks great! Watch those perches for wear and make sure they're not eating the cotton fibres, which can cause crop impaction. And maybe consider switching to stainless steel dishes. I think we have the same cage, by the way.![]()
Good luck catching them to put them onThey need little hats![]()
That perch does look like its time is through. Various wooden and natural sisal-type rope chew toys may help keep them from destroying your perches. Foraging toys are MUCH better than things like mirrors, which can cause severe behavioural issues. I had one bird that basically developed psychotic symptoms due to mirror use. Thanks for the tips!! Thankfully they’ve never really seemed interested in eating the perches, just playing on them, but I do have toys and chewy things tooI will say though that they’ve taken to eating this perch which really concerns me so I may take it out? But they seem fine and use it a lot so idk.
it mostly seems to be the male eating it I think. Maybe it’s time for a new chew toy.
And thanks for the tip on the dishes! I was just using the ones it came with but I really don’t like them anyway and they also seem to have like a film or something on the plastic that’s hard to get off even with wiping tons, so I feel like stainless would be better and maybe healthier?
And yessss I love it! Gives them lots of room.
They use every inch of it lol
This is the perch I’m worried about.

I keep meaning to buy a knockoff brand step tracker. I would use a FitBit, but I don't want Google to get its hands on my data.
Hey. Don't come crying to me when the robots take your chickens away.
