Hi Guys I wanted to know your Opinions on different hatch methods and hatch rates (: This is my first incubation (due Sunday) and im doing a dry hatch.

I have had much better hatch rates since I started doing dry hatches. Think about it, how does a broody hen monitor the humidity under her?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Similar to Rare Feathers Farm, I incubate at 40-45% and raise to 65-70% the last 3 days. My hatchouts percentages are excellent.

Any Other Opinions

Hey, where do I learn more about dry-versus-normal incubation? I've only hatched eggs under broody hens (yeah - like I did the work lol!) and now I want to build my own 'bator box. Do different species have different requirements as far as humidity? I'm hoping to hatch duck and pheasant eggs specifically. I'll admit I've wondered about this humidity thing being that my hens don't appear to have control switches or hygrometers attached to them.

Good Topic!! I'm an apprentice, so I don't feel I'm experienced enough to vote one way or the other. Just had 79 out of 94 Bobwhites to hatch, and kept it ~45% - 50% until lockdown, so I feel kinda OK with that. Anybody dry hatch quail?
