Careful. Foxes are sly and mean. Especially when they have babies somewhere in the neighbourhood.
If they are very hungry they come to spy and hunt during the day too.

they come around every year, but i never had one not run away when i went outside. i am afraid to let the chickens out today.

i had the hose on the jet setting and he was just slinking closer and closer to me when getting jetted with the hose.

i think someone around here feeds them?

i think this starling is trying to make a nest in my shed and i foiled his plans. he won't go away and he's stalking me.

I kind of like having starlings around....unless what I have are sparrows?🤷‍♀️ The last time a hawk tried to get one of my girls, he was chased off by a VERY territorial starling/sparrow. I had never seen regret in a bird's body language until then.

I had a few in our garden over the years who just stared at me. Coming close they went away. This is a strange one and maybe you are right, its sounds as if he is accustomed to people.

I certainly wouldn’t let my chickens free range if I saw 👀 a fox 🦊 hanging around. Fortunately I don’t have a camera to get me worried.

could have been a swallow! they chase away our hawks, tiny as they are. this starling wants to make a nest in my tumble dryer vent and i can't let him do that. 😂

yeah. i think i'll keep them in today and see. yesterday, both chickens were looking all alert like something was around, but i couldn't see anything. i hope it wasn't him watching us.

i just saw my neighbour and was telling her about the fox. she said another neighbour was walking his little jack russell (his jack russell is a little limpy and overweight) around 7am recently and the fox was sitting at the edge of the hedges waiting for them to go by. he thought the fox would go after the dog. the fox didn't budge until the man was right up close to him and roared at him. 😫

Is your coop fox-proofed? He may not have paid attention this time because you gave him a shower, but he 100% knows it's there.
