Pompom Duck has her eyes infected

Yeah. I am not a big fan of my vet. I use him only when I need to. Plus I just spent a ton of money on my dog at another vet to find out basically my dog is old. Never would have guessed a 10 year old dog was old šŸ˜‘.

If you didn't see any evidence of molding, than maybe fungal isn't the answer. Hay just usually molds easily in my experience. But if that hay is a different variety that doesn't mold easily, maybe that is not the problem.

Trying to remember, other ducks were having issues as well, correct? One is particularly bad? It also sounded like they were having some respiratory issues in the beginning. Are they still having respiratory issues?
None of my ducks ever had any real respiratory issues other than slight hoarseness (drakes during spring) or a sneeze here and there. Sickness-wise this is the worst i have experienced since i have ducks and i begin to feel uneasy this might spread through the whole flock.
I read about eye diseases in poultry and other birds and there's the whole kaboodle available from bacteria over fungi, viruses to worms and protozoa - the last seem to be the worst ones.
I will call that pet-clinic (https://www.valleywestvets.com/) tomorrow and ask for advice or maybe they can refer me to a poultry specialist.

I sprayed down the whole duck house, the duck herself and myself (inadvertedly) with a 5% permethrin solution, just to make sure that there are no weird critters in the bedding

I did an experiment today, so you can get a glimpse of how ducky is doing: My little Runner Duck with her eye infection must be fed and watered three times a day. This time I stuck the telephone with running camera into the front pocket of my work trousers and let it record...

Poor baby. Will she eat if you put feed down right in front of her in the duck house?

I am sure she would, but she cannot find it. I suspect her to wander around in the duck house and in the run during the day. I have found her under the waterer and i saw her drinking. Not sure if she can eat from the pellet feeder.

What if she was in a dog crate. Maybe during the night with food and water. She wouldn't have much room, so maybe should would figure it out 🤷. That or make a big mess.

It would be adorable if it wasn't for the fact that she is so poorly. :( I wonder, do you speak to her in English or German when you aren't recording?

Blind animals, like people, learn to navigate quite well I've found. If you always place things in the same location, they will learn where they are (ie, food and water dishes).

So, i have an appointment with the Animal Care Associates tomorrow at 2:30pm. - At first they only had an appointment available for Thursday next week, but when i explained them the urgency of the case, the vet was willing to squeeze her in for tomorrow. šŸ¤žšŸ»
That will be around $100, but this is no longer just for this one, if that is something contagious my whole flock is in danger. - Not to mention that some of the ugly things can also spread to humans...
