buck-wild - sounds like your pony is getting over her colic and you are doing your best to help her.
I know folks on here are trying to be helpful, but walking a colicing horse is NOT the best thing to do!!!
This is advice from the veterinary hospital in Naperville,IL given to me 18 years ago when my gelding coliced so bad he ended up needing surgery (he's fine, 27yo now and never another colic as serious). I walked him for 5 hours before I was able to get him trailered there. When he went down, I forced him up. By the time we got to the clinic both of us were exhausted.
I was told by the surgeon that if a colicky horse goes down and is thrashing ONLY THEN do you force him up to avoid a torsion of the gut that could end up in necrotic tissue from blood supply getting cut off.
If your mare is lying quietly, let her rest.
It is better for both of you.
Hoping to read she is back to normal this morning!
If she's still colicky you will need to get your vet out to check for impaction or a "grainbag" torsion where a section of gut loops over another. Vet can also pass a naso-gastric tube to get mineral oil to the impaction if there is one.
Colic is one of the scariest things a horseowner has to deal with.
If only they could throw up....
Of course, you know they would do it on your head then... : }
